Journal entry

Kuvuka Hub and Auto365Africa have strengthened their collaboration with Chama cha Mafundi Tanzania (CMT) following a recent meeting focused on skills development, technology adoption, digital transformation, and opportunities for collaboration within the artisan community of Kigamboni District.

The meeting brought together representatives of CMT, Kuvuka Hub, and Auto365 Africa to explore how technology and digital skills can contribute to improving the capacity, productivity, professionalism, and competitiveness of local artisans.

A New Opportunity for Skills Development

One of the key outcomes of the meeting was an agreement to establish collaboration between CMT and Kuvuka Hub in the area of technology and digital skills development.

Through this collaboration, Kuvuka Hub will support CMT members and the wider artisan community through practical learning opportunities, including:

  • Saturday Cross-Programme Learning
  • Monday Technology & Digital Skills Sessions
  • Practical digital skills training
  • Technology awareness and adoption
  • Innovation and entrepreneurship learning
  • Digital transformation workshops
  • Industry mentorship and knowledge sharing

The partnership is designed to make technology more accessible to artisans by connecting learning with the real challenges they experience in their daily work.

From Traditional Skills to Digital Skills

The modern artisan is no longer required to depend only on traditional technical knowledge. Digital tools are increasingly becoming important in areas such as customer communication, marketing, record keeping, business management, diagnostics, online services, and access to technical information.

Kuvuka Hub's role will therefore be to help bridge the gap between traditional craftsmanship and the digital economy.

Strengthening the Automotive Sector

A significant area of collaboration will be the automotive sector.

Through Auto365 Africa's experience in automotive digital transformation, Kuvuka Hub is supporting the development of new approaches to vehicle inspection, automotive service delivery, digital customer experience, and technology-enabled garage operations.

Auto365Africa provides an important practical example of how technology can transform the automotive ecosystem by connecting vehicle owners, service providers, and digital automotive services.

This experience has also contributed to the recognition of Kuvuka Hub members within the Kigamboni District automotive sector, with members selected to take leadership responsibilities in advancing automotive development and digital transformation.

Kuvuka Hub Director Shares Vision for Collaboration

During the meeting, the Director of Kuvuka Hub shared his views on how the two organizations can work together to create meaningful and sustainable development.

The discussion emphasized that the partnership should not only benefit the organizations involved, but should ultimately create value for individual artisans, businesses, young people, customers, and the wider Kigamboni community.

The Director highlighted the importance of creating practical pathways where artisans can:

Learn → Apply → Innovate → Improve → Grow

He further emphasized that technology should not replace the skills and experience of artisans, but rather strengthen their existing capabilities and open new opportunities for growth.

Customer Experience as a Common Learning Thread

The collaboration also supports Kuvuka Hub's Saturday Cross-Programme Learning Framework, where Customer Experience (CX) serves as a common thread across different programmes.

For CMT members, this means learning not only how to improve technical services, but also how to:

  • Understand customer needs.
  • Communicate professionally.
  • Build customer trust.
  • Provide transparent services.
  • Use digital tools to improve service delivery.
  • Collect and respond to customer feedback.
  • Continuously improve their businesses.

This approach connects technical skills with real customer and community needs.

Building a Future-Ready Artisan Community

The partnership between CMT and Kuvuka Hub, supported by the practical technology experience of Auto365 Africa, represents an important step toward building a more digitally capable artisan community in Kigamboni.

It creates an opportunity to bring together:

Artisan Skills + Technology + Digital Skills + Innovation + Leadership + Customer Experience

The long-term vision is to develop artisans who are not only skilled in their professions but are also digitally enabled, innovative, customer-focused, and ready to compete in a changing economy.

A Shared Commitment

The collaboration reflects a shared belief that sustainable development is achieved when institutions, professionals, businesses, and communities work together.

"Technology becomes meaningful when it reaches people, strengthens their skills, improves their businesses, and creates opportunities for the community."

Through continued collaboration, CMT and Kuvuka Hub aim to create practical learning opportunities that can contribute to stronger businesses, better services, improved livelihoods, and a more innovative Kigamboni community.
